Coconut Oil For Split Ends?

i heard coconut oil helps split ends.
we have some of it in our pantry so it wouldnt cost me anything to buy it, plus its organic.
i dont want to get it cut bc its already up to my chin and skl starts soon so i dont want it shorter. i read online and my parents told me that any product out there that isnt natural will just either make it worse or just hide them, but will still be there.
so will coconut oil help? please no stupid answers or please dont say omething like, get it cut, or, buy heat spray or split end shampoo w/e. plz and thnx! (:

No. The only thing that helps split ends is a trim.

    NOTHING will mend split ends.
A split end is where the shaft of the hair has split or flayed. Typically the hair splits into two or three strands, and can be as long or two to three centimeters in length. There is no way to repair split ends.
The appearance of split ends may be improved by using certain products that temporarily ‘glue’ the split strands together. But as soon as the product evaporates or is washed out your hair is still split. Coconut oil is not that great as a conditioner. It could make your hair lank and dull, especially as your hair is not very long. You need to add moisture to your hair, not oil.
I strongly suggest you get the book The Hair Bible by Philip Kingsley to help you understand the structure of your hair and what products to use on it. Philip Kingsley is one of the worlds leading Trichologists (hair doctors).http://www.amazon.com/Hair-Bible-Complet…
*Why can’t you use any other products on your hair and how have you got the split ends in the first place?
